There are days I just want to give up on the internet. I decided to take a break from Facebook for a week. I instantly regretted opening up the page. Immediately I am bombarded with politics. Politics these days being anti-trump rhetoric, anti-republican, race, racism, and sometimes what feels like whites being blamed for everything.
Overall, it is a very negative experience. If I try to do any research on the subject, it is the same thing. It is more blame-shifting, more hatred, and more loud screams in the echo chamber. No one wants a solution. Ok, let me rephrase that: no one wants a practical solution. To some, the solution is more government, or punish the rich, or punish white people, because racism and slavery are the inventions of white republicans.
Huston, we have a problem.
Truth is now subjective. If everyone believes it, then it must be true.
As a white “middle-class” (just barely) Christian conservative man, I am made to feel like I am the enemy. Everything is my fault because my whiteness is oppressive, my faith is hateful, and my conservative values are fascist and racist. This is what the internet says. If millions of people are saying it, then it must be true!
Except it isn’t. The problem is, that finding evidence otherwise is a lot more challenging. One, it is hard to find. Two, even if I could find the truth and express it well no one would believe it. Why? They don’t want to. It doesn’t fit the narrative. The media sources are telling us what to believe, and the truth is being twisted to fit into the narrative they want us to follow. With all the access we have to information, there are still gatekeepers to this information. They want us to only find the information they want us to have. Truth be damned! Truth has no place in the realm of feelings, outrage, and hatred. And yet, it is the control of information like this that is causing division in this country. People don’t want unity, they want destruction. Antifa, BLM, the KKK, Neo-Nazis. 2 are viewed as heroic, while the other is (rightfully so) demonized. However, they fight hate with hate. There is nothing heroic about Antifa physically attacking someone who believes differently than you. There is nothing brave about silencing opposing viewpoints because you don’t like them. There is nothing justified in rioting in the streets, causing destruction to cities. This changes nothing for the good of all Americans. Equality is not gained but destroyed.

Millionaires (yep, those football players make a whole lot more than the rest of us) taking a knee during the national anthem does nothing other make people mad.
No one is offering solutions. Sadly, I have none. I am a nobody. No one would listen to me if I did. I am a white, straight, cisgender, middle-class, single Christian man. I am, in their eyes, the oppressor. And if we continue to label people and blame them for our own misfortunes, then this country will never be unified again.
There is only one solution in my eyes. In my hunt for truth, I only see one source. This is what it has to say:
Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slaveg nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
Galatians 3: 23-29
There is only one way to find equality, that that is through the Gospel. This is why I have dedicated my life to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Only in Christ can we be free.
